About Me
I’m a Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT-KA, CPDT-VSA) with a deep passion for education, canine behavior, and strengthening the bond between dogs and their owners. My journey into dog training began when my husband and I volunteered at our local animal shelter. There, I had the opportunity to work closely with shelter dogs, which led me to a job at a doggie daycare. It was at that daycare that I met a professional trainer who inspired me to take the next step in my career.
I eventually became a trainer for the same shelter where I had first volunteered, and through that experience, I gained invaluable insight into both dog behavior and human education. I’ve learned how crucial it is to understand what dogs are telling us—because when we listen, we can prevent bites, improve relationships, and create safer environments for both dogs and people.
Throughout my career—especially during my time working in an animal shelter—I’ve witnessed far too many preventable dog bites and unnecessary surrenders. Many of these heartbreaking situations could have been avoided with the right knowledge and guidance. That’s why my mission is clear:
I’m here to educate dog parents who are struggling to understand their dogs and to support those who want to create a safe, happy, and lasting bond with their pets. I also strive to be a voice for dogs, helping communities recognize what dogs are truly communicating so we can reduce bites, prevent misunderstandings, and build a safer, more harmonious world for both dogs and people.
Trust and cooperation are the foundation of every great relationship with our dogs, and my goal is to help you achieve that with your own four-legged companion.
